(KNSI) – St. Cloud Technical & Community College (SCTCC) has opened its new Multicultural Center. A grand opening ceremony was held Wednesday afternoon on the SCTCC campus.
Vice President of Cultural Fluency, Equity and Inclusion Debra Leigh helped spearhead the project.
“The Multicultural Center is a place for everyone, all who are human. It is a place where everyone is welcome where everyone’s humanity is celebrated, where everyone can find connection, celebrate traditions, and learn about your cultural heritage. In addition to learning more about one’s own identity and others cultures, students will explore the critical issues of race, nationality, gender and class.”
Since 2005, the voices of several SCTCC employees have been involved in the creation and completion of the Multicultural Center.
