(KNSI) – A student-athlete has been suspended after allegedly assaulting a man last week.
St. Cloud State University says the university is aware of an off-campus incident involving a student-athlete and student on September 18.
The incident is under investigation by the St. Cloud Police Department.
SCSU stated it takes the safety of its students very seriously and safety is its top priority. The student-athlete has been suspended from the team while SCSU investigates.
Social media reports say the athlete in question is a member of the SCSU wrestling team. Officials didn’t name the student-athlete. Reports state the victim suffered injuries to his head and jaw.
