(KNSI) – The annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s is this weekend in St. Cloud. The walk is Saturday, with registration at 9 a.m. and the walk starting at 10 a.m. around Lake George. Alzheimer’s Association of Minnesota Program Manager for Jenna Pogorels says if you are concerned about COVID, there’s another option to participate.

“There’s still the option this year to to walk from home and you can register still for the walk and choose to walk at home. We know there’s a lot of folks that are concerned about larger groups. And so we want to make that option available as well. ”

According to the Alzheimer’s Association, 344 people have registered on 74 teams to take the 1.5-mile path around the lake.

“We always expect a big crowd. But due to COVID-19, we’re encouraging walk attendees to be vaccinated or wear a mask when in an overcrowded area.”

Masks will be available on-site. This year’s goal is to raise $95,000. Walkers are encouraged to register ahead of time.
