UPDATE: 7:45 A.M. (KNSI) – The Minnesota State Patrol says 24-year-old Jesse Robert Kapeka was hit and killed on Thursday around 8:40 a.m. near Wheaton.

(KNSI) – The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash Thursday morning.
According to the state patrol, about 8:40 a.m., 37-year-old Nicholas Hunter of Glenwood was on 650th Street and was attempting to back onto Highway 27 in Traverse County in western Minnesota when he hit a pedestrian.
That pedestrian is a 24-year-old man from Waite Park. His name was not immediately released.
Wheaton Fire and Ambulance assisted on scene.
