(KNSI) — The Sauk Centre Area Community Foundation says it is opening two brand new grant rounds.

The first is the Community Impact Grant. The foundation is looking to award grants to build community and create lasting, positive change in the Sauk Centre area. They are focusing on supporting youth initiatives and education, including Pre-K-12 and after school programs; productive aging that promotes healthy aging; activities that generate appreciation for diversity and improve cultural opportunities; activities that build, promote, and preserve communities; promote recreation, health education, physical and mental health and that reduce abuse and violence; and capital projects, according to a press release.

“After five years of continuous philanthropic work and local impact in our community, the Sauk Centre Area Community Foundation board is elated to see their first community impact grant round come to fruition. We look forward to the new innovative and collaborative opportunities and programs that community organizations develop that can provide lasting, positive change in our community. We hope to continue to foster our efforts to engage people, connect resources and build community in the Sauk Centre area.” says Sara Carlson, Executive Director of the Sauk Centre Area Community Foundation.

The foundation is also accepting applications for an inaugural arts grant. Enhancing the arts creates engagement, connection and the fostering of hometown pride ultimately building our community. We are encouraged and excited to see new arts projects and programs that will continue to enrich our area”.
