(KNSI) – A man has been sentenced after beating and strangling a woman to death in Sauk Rapids in July of 2019.
David Lee Williams Jr. pleaded guilty to one count of murder in the second degree in May. The 39-year-old was sentenced on Friday to 22 and a half years in prison. Williams was given credit for almost two years in jail.
In July 2019, Williams called 911 to report 30-year-old Crystal Marie Bundy was unconscious and not breathing.
First responders arrived at the home in the 1200-block of First Avenue North in Sauk Rapids and found Bundy in bed.
Investigators say she was severely bruised and had been dead for some time.
