(KNSI) – The Minnesota Department of Health confirms more than 2,000 new cases of COVID-19 found across the state Friday.
Out of the 2,088 newly confirmed cases, 205 were found in the five-county St. Cloud area.
- Benton: 22
- Morrison: 11
- Sherburne: 31
- Stearns: 67
- Wright: 74
There are also 12 new deaths from COVID, bringing Minnesota’s total death count from the pandemic to 7,856.
Right now, 615 people are hospitalized across Minnesota for COVID-19. One hundred and fifty-eight of those patients are in the ICU.
Meanwhile, vaccinations continue to increase. 70.9 percent of Minnesotans 12 and older have gotten at least one shot so far. With at least one vaccine dose in the arms of 3,332,617 people (as of Thursday, September 2nd), the state’s total population is just shy of 60 percent vaccinated.
