(KNSI) — Police say one person is under arrest in connection to the shooting death of a father and baseball coach on Highway 169 in Hopkins.

They say an interaction between 56-year-old Jay Boughton and another driver may have precipitated the July 6th shooting. Boughton and his son were coming home from a baseball game about 10:00 that night when he was shot to death.

The shooting was captured on Minnesota Department of Transportation traffic cameras and an SUV was identified as the suspect vehicle. Investigators say that vehicle was found July 23rd when a tow company called police saying they had impounded an SUV that matched the description of the one possibly used in the shooting.

A press conference is scheduled for 2:00 Thursday afternoon for investigators to update the public on the latest developments in the case.
