Five People Injured in Car Crash Near Willmar Saturday

(KNSI) – Five people were taken to the hospital following a late-night car crash in Kandiyohi County on Saturday.

The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office says at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, deputies went to the scene of a one-vehicle crash just outside Willmar in the 1000 block of County Road 9 NE. There, they found a car that had left the road and had flipped onto its roof.

The sheriff’s office says the five occupants — four adults and one teenager — from Willmar, Atwater and Raymond were all taken to Rice Memorial Hospital for what are described as various levels of injuries from the crash. The sheriff’s office says their current conditions are unknown.

Authorities say they believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.
