(KNSI) – Dozens of area high school students are getting financial help going to college thanks to the Central Minnesota Community Foundation. The St. Cloud area charity, with CommunityGiving, has awarded 85 academic scholarships for the 2021-2022 school year. The scholarships are worth $175,250.

CommunityGiving oversees 125 scholarships that individuals, families, and businesses sponsor to help area students’ get a higher education.

Local winners of the scholarships are:

Samuel Larson of St. Cloud Cathedral High School received $2000 from the Greater St. Cloud Public Safety Foundation Scholarship Fund.

Allie Sia Su of St. Cloud Cathedral High School received $2250 from the George and Shirley Torrey Nursing Scholarship Fund.

Logan Simones of St. Cloud Cathedral High School received $500 from the Dan Fouquette Scholarship-St. Cloud National Bank Fund.

Colleen Zadoo of St. Cloud Cathedral High School received $2500 from the George and Shirley Torrey Nursing Scholarship Fund and $1000 from the Bill and Joyce Coborn Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Matthew Nelson of St. Cloud Christian School received $1000 from the Bill and Joyce Coborn Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Kyle Christen of St. Cloud Tech High School received $1000 from the David Torrey Memorial Scholarship Fund.
