(KNSI) – Saint John’s Preparatory School in Collegeville will welcome students back to campus later this month to start the 2021-22 school year.
St. John’s Prep said in a press release that they plan to welcome students in grades 6-12 back for full-time, in-person traditional instruction on August 25. The school says they’re closely monitoring pandemic conditions and are prepared to adapt plans if necessary.
According to St. John’s Principal, Dr. Christine Glomski, vaccinated people do not have to wear masks on campus. Non-Vaccinated people should wear masks. Vaccinated students and staff could wear a mask if they choose.
The school says they surveyed families who attend the school to help us plan for the new school year and found around 90% of students will be vaccinated by the start of school. The school says vaccination rates among Prep students are approximately double the rate for all young people in Minnesota age 12 to 17.
According to Minnesota Department of Health data reported this week, fewer than half of all 16- and 17-year-old Minnesotans, and only one-third of those aged 12 to 15, thus far have been vaccinated for COVID.
