(KNSI) – A long-distance skateboard race is coming back to St. Cloud this year.

The three-day Skate Central Lakes Endurance Festival, dubbed “the world’s toughest staged distance skateboarding race,” is set for Friday, July 23rd to Sunday, July 25th.

The first leg of the 203-mile race starts in St. Cloud at River’s Edge Park at 5 a.m. Friday. Skateboarders will race 106 miles on the Lake Wobegon Trail, then on the Central Lakes Trail up to Fergus Falls. On day two, they race 62 miles from Fergus Falls to West Union starting at 7 a.m. On day three, skateboarders come back to St. Cloud to compete in a 35-mile sprint race that starts and finishes in St. Cloud. That last leg of the race begins at 9 a.m. Sunday.

Registration for racers will be open until the 23rd.

The International Distance Skateboard Association estimates 30 to 50 distance skateboarders will be taking part in this competition.
