(KNSI) – A U.S. Congressman will visit a Stearns County bridge listed as deficient that spans the Sauk River.
Sixth District Representative Tom Emmer will be at Bridge 6819, along County State Aid Highway 75 in Waite Park, on Wednesday to talk about a project to replace the bridge.
Emmer will be joined by Stearns County Administrator Micheal Williams and County Engineer Jodi Teich, Commissioner Steve Notch, Commissioner Joe Perske, and possibly Mayor Rick Miller.
The bridge was built in 1954, and officials say portions of the bridge have decayed beyond what can be fixed with minor repairs.
According to Emmer’s office, the bridge has on average 23,400 people cross it a day.
