(KNSI) – Minnesota’s not a bad place to take a staycation, according to WalletHub. Its report of the most fun states to visit in the United States puts Minnesota at No. 9.
The North Star State has the 3rd most performing arts theaters per capita, the 6th most movie theaters per capita and the 5th most casinos per capita. Minnesota also ranks high for its golf courses and country clubs per capita and the state’s variety of arts, entertainment and recreation venues. However, the state is more middle-of-the-road when it comes to restaurants (23rd highest per capita) and amusement parks (29th highest per capita).
The study also factored in states’ fitness centers, skiing facilities, marinas, access to national parks and how much people, state governments and local governments spend on parks and recreation. By these metrics, WalletHub says the top three most fun states to visit are California, Florida and Nevada.
