(KNSI) – An arrest has been made in connection with a shooting of a man near Sartell last week.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says they executed a search warrant on Thursday in rural Morrison County at 17589 Ranch Road in Leigh Township in connection to a shooting in LeSauk Township on May 25.
The warrant was for a 34-year-old St. Cloud man.
The man was taken into custody and held on suspicion of 1st Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Assault, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Investigators working in conjunction with the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office learned the suspect was at an address in rural Morrison County.
Investigators executed the warrant at around 11:00 a.m.
The suspect is in the Stearns County Jail and is being held pending formal charges.
Also arrested during the search was a 38 year-old-man from New London on a 5th degree-controlled substance crime.
Officials have released the name of a Sartell man shot earlier this week in LeSauk Township.
According to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, 57-year-old Alex Mallet was shot in the neck outside a home in the 32000-block of River Oaks Lane at 4:51 a.m. on May 25.
Mallett was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital. At last report, he was in stable condition.
