(KNSI) – The St. Cloud Rotaract Club is hosting a home run derby Saturday, June 5th to benefit the Central Minnesota Child Advocacy Center.
Home Runs for Healing runs from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Municipal Athletic Complex on Dick Putz Field.
For a suggested $20 donation, each batter gets two minutes to hit as many baseballs as they can. Various prizes are awarded based on where balls land in the field. For each home run hit, the batter’s name is entered for the grand prize drawing of a $500 Scheels gift card and ten tickets to the June 13th Twins game. Plus, 100 Twins tickets will be given as prizes throughout the day.
The brackets are broken down into two divisions — children between the ages of ten and 15 and adults over 16.
Prizes will be given away for attendees as well, including gift cards and baseball-related items. There will be food trucks, music, face painting, yard games, a beer garden, and other activities.
Entry is free to the public.
Proceeds from the event will go directly to the Central Minnesota Child Advocacy Center. The CAC provides critical resources and support for children who have experienced physical, sexual or emotional abuse.
