(KNSI) – A Waite Park man is facing two counts of felony domestic assault after police say he assaulted a woman who picked him up from the hospital Sunday night.
Police say the two were allegedly fighting over a cell phone.
According to the criminal complaint, 25-year-old Refugio Kooky Schorn became upset with the woman after she refused to reactivate a cell phone that she says he used to buy drugs. The woman told investigators that while she was driving. Schorn hit her in the head and grabbed the steering wheel of her car before she stopped to get out. She explained to police the argument continued outside of the car, and according to the criminal complaint, Schorn grabbed the woman and dragged her before punching her and walking away.
She immediately turned around and drove back to the hospital to make a formal report.
Schorn is due back in court today.
