Cold Spring Boy Seriously Hurt After E-Bike Hit by SUV

(KNSI) – An 11-year-old boy riding an e-bike was seriously hurt when he was hit by a vehicle just north of Cold Spring Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened just before 4:00 at the intersection of County Road 50 and 158th Avenue.

Investigators say a 24-year-old woman from Avon was driving a 2013 Ford Edge north on County Road 50 when the Cold Spring boy rode his e-bike onto the road from 158th Avenue. The front passenger side of the SUV struck the child.

The sheriff’s office says he was wearing a helmet. His current condition is unknown.

Deputies, Cold Spring firefighters and Mayo Ambulance treated Baker at the scene before he was taken to CentraCare-St. Cloud Hospital.
