CentraCare Drive-Thru Flu Shots Start Saturday in St. Cloud; Flu and COVID Vaccine Appointments Open

(KNSI) – CentraCare is urging people to get their flu and COVID-19 shots by the end of October, before flu season hits its peak.

Both vaccines are now available by appointment at CentraCare primary care clinics across the region, and patients can get both shots during the same visit.

For those who’d rather stay in the car, CentraCare is holding drive-thru flu shot clinics on four Saturdays at CentraCare Plaza in St. Cloud, starting this Saturday, September 26th. The clinics run from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on September 26th and October 3rd, 10th and 17th at the Meadow Entrance, 1900 CentraCare Circle. The drive-thru offers flu shots only, and appointments are preferred.

Health officials recommend a yearly flu shot for everyone six months and older, along with staying up to date on COVID-19 vaccines. Getting vaccinated is especially important for older adults, young children, pregnant people and anyone with underlying health conditions.

Adults 65 and older can again get Fluad, a flu vaccine made for that age group. It contains an added ingredient that helps the body build a stronger, longer-lasting response to the shot.
