(KNSI) – More than seven million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s. The St. Cloud Walk to End Alzheimer’s aims to let those affected and their families know they are not alone.
As a young girl, Walk manager for the Alzheimer’s Association of Minnesota and North Dakota, Zhou(Zow) Benson watched her grandfather deal with the disease and says, “We really hope that this is an event that can bring together community and awareness about Alzheimer’s and just to remind the community that they are not alone.”
Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Participants of all ages and abilities are invited to join the fight against the disease. The walk takes place Saturday, October 3, at Lake George.
Benson encourages, “So many reasons to be out there on walk day and it’s just great to see everyone’s ‘why.'” To sign up or learn more, click here.
