(KNSI) – The League of Women Voters St. Cloud Area is holding a session to fill residents in on what they need to know before casting a ballot in the November 3rd general election.
“Voter 101: Being an Informed Voter” runs Tuesday, September 15th, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. in the Mississippi Room at the St. Cloud Regional Library, 1300 West St. Germain Street. The session is free and open to the public.
The guest speaker is Melanie Hazelip, voter outreach director for the Minnesota Secretary of State’s office. She will walk through how to register, the ways to cast a ballot in Minnesota, and how elections are secured, covering voting equipment and procedures along with the staff and volunteers who run polling places. Hazelip will also talk about how to research candidates and what to expect on Election Day.
The League says the session is built for first-time voters, longtime voters with questions, and anyone looking for reliable information to pass on to friends and family.
Audience questions will be taken after the presentation.
