(KNSI) – A man is being held in the Stearns County Jail after deputies say he stabbed another man at a treatment facility housing unit in Paynesville using a homemade blade.
According to the sheriff’s office, dispatchers received a report of an assault at the facility in the 300 block of Washburne Avenue around 12:25 a.m. Tuesday.
Deputies responded and learned a 27-year-old man had assaulted a 25-year-old man. Both men were living at the residence and knew each other.
The victim was taken to CentraCare Paynesville Hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released.
The suspect left before deputies arrived but was taken into custody later that day in Paynesville. He remains in the Stearns County Jail pending formal criminal charges.
The investigation is ongoing.
