(KNSI) – Art comes in all forms and it comes from amazing places. The annual art show is coming up at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center.

Madge Scherer works in recreation therapy with vets. She was a guest of KNSI and says a wide variety of skills will be on display. “We have almost 50 categories. So there are all abilities and skill levels, things from coloring pages to photography, paintings, model building kits, leather work.  All kinds of different things.”  Scherer continues, “The purpose of the show is to kind of bring awareness to the role that creative arts can play for people, whether it’s that sense of purpose, connection, growth, learning new things, mental health. I think it can be a really important tool for people.”

The show is open to any veteran artists who are enrolled for care at the St. Cloud VA. The entry deadline is September 11th. The show is September 16th and 17th.  For more information, contact Madge at (320) 252-1670 extension 7336.
