(KNSI) – CentraCare-St. Cloud Hospital is the second-best program in Minnesota for cardiology, heart and vascular surgery, trailing only the Mayo Clinic.
The recognition comes in U.S. News & World Report’s 2026-2027 Best Hospitals rankings released Tuesday. The magazine says its evaluations are based on patient outcomes and patient experience.
The rankings are broken into categories, and hospitals are scored separately by specialty and as a whole. On the overall list of the best hospitals in Minnesota, CentraCare-St. Cloud Hospital placed fifth. Mayo Clinic in Rochester again took the top spot, followed by M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center, M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina and Allina Health United Hospital in St. Paul.
CentraCare-St. Cloud Hospital was also rated as high performing in 15 procedures and conditions, according to CentraCare.
CentraCare says the ranking belongs as much to patients and families who chose the hospital during difficult moments as it does to the physicians, nurses and care teams who treated them.
