Rox Jersey Auction Raises Record $11,170 for Local Veterans

(KNSI) – A jersey auction at Saturday’s St. Cloud Rox game raised a record $11,170 for two nonprofits that serve local veterans and their families.

Rox players and coaches wore USA-themed jerseys throughout July and again during Military Appreciation Night on August 1st, when the team hosted the Badlands Big Sticks. The jerseys were auctioned off before and during the game.

Net proceeds will be split evenly between the TriUnity Foundation and Freedom Flight, with both organizations using the money to provide grants to veterans in the St. Cloud area.

The TriUnity Foundation works to eliminate debt for individuals battling terminal illness. Organizers say the group’s share of the auction money will go toward supporting a local veteran facing a terminal diagnosis.

Freedom Flight is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that flies hot air balloons to raise awareness of Prisoner of War and Missing in Action issues. The organization is privately funded by donors and run entirely by volunteers, from pilots and ground crew to the artwork and event planning.

Military Appreciation Night is an annual event at Joe Faber Field. This year’s auction was organized in partnership with St. Cloud Financial Credit Union and Advantage 1 Insurance.
