(KNSI) – A Maryland woman is facing multiple charges after the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office says she tried to drown her 15-year-old daughter on Sunday afternoon.
The sheriff’s office says it received a report of a domestic assault at 4:19 p.m. on West Battle Lake, northeast of the city of Battle Lake. Investigators say initial reports indicated a 35-year-old Baltimore mother attempted to drown her daughter during a fight.
The woman was arrested on suspicion of domestic assault, domestic assault by strangulation, and second-degree attempted murder. According to the sheriff’s office, the 15-year-old victim was taken to Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Battle Lake Police Department, Battle Lake Rescue, and Henning Ambulance.
The incident remains under investigation.
