(KNSI) – Mongo’s Grill is making a comeback in St. Cloud, less than a month after HuHot Mongolian Grill closed its doors at the same West Division Street location.
The St. Cloud City Council took a procedural step toward the return Monday night, approving an item on its consent agenda that sets a July 6th public hearing on a liquor license transfer at 3701 West Division Street, Suite 103.
City documents show the on-sale combination wine and 3.2% liquor license would move from CCW MINN, LLC, which operated the space as HuHot Mongolian Grill, to MG Group, Inc., doing business as Mongos Grill.
The address has changed hands before. Mongo’s Grill closed in 2024 after its parent company shut down the St. Cloud location, and HuHot moved in later that year. HuHot then announced it would permanently close on May 25th, leaving the building open for Mongo’s to return.
The applicant has paid a $210 investigation fee. A $500 wine license fee and a $300 3.2% on-sale license fee remain outstanding.
The transfer is expected to go before the council for final action after the July 6th public hearing.
