(KNSI) – St. Cloud residents who want police officers, firefighters or city officials to drop by their neighborhood block party this summer can now sign up through the city.

Registration is open for National Night Out, the annual community event set for Tuesday, August 4th, 2026. By registering a neighborhood gathering, residents can request that local law enforcement, fire crews or city officials make an appearance, turning a backyard cookout or street party into a chance to meet the people who serve their area.

The nationwide event is built around the idea that neighbors who know each other make for safer streets. Organizers say it helps neighborhoods build lasting connections, strengthen crime and drug prevention efforts, and show would-be criminals that a block is organized and looking out for one another.

In St. Cloud, the program is coordinated through the city’s crime prevention office.
