(KNSI) — The Women’s Fund Dancing with Our Stars, Live! event raised $259,323 to support girls and women experiencing adversity, and older women in the St. Cloud area.

The 10th annual event was held at Escher Auditorium on the campus of the College of St. Benedict on Monday night, drawing a crowd of more than 600 people. Funds raised by dancers and nonprofits totaled $129,473, combined with $129,850 in event sponsorships. All funds benefit local organizations serving women and girls within a 30-mile radius of St. Cloud.

Five local community stars competed in a dance competition, each paired with a professional dancer for a chance to win up to $15,000 in grant funding for the nonprofit of their choice. Final scoring was based 60% on dollars raised and 40% on judges’ scores. The Women’s Fund donated $39,000 in grants to participants based on competition rankings.

  • 1st Place — Dr. Paul Wirth, paired with Kathy Kampa, benefiting the Wirth Center for the Performing Arts. Raised $44,025. Awarded $15,000 first-place prize plus a $3,000 Judge’s Choice award, for a total of $62,025.
