(KNSI) – A St. Cloud man is facing felony charges after a woman reported being sexually assaulted in the city last month.
Chibuzo Obinwanne Ikediego has been charged in Stearns County District Court with first-degree and third-degree criminal sexual conduct. Both counts are felonies.
According to a criminal complaint, St. Cloud police were called on May 7th for a report of a sexual assault that happened overnight. The woman told investigators that the 38-year-old man came into her room, assaulted her and held her down after she told him to stop.
The complaint says investigators viewed surveillance video showing Ikediego entering and leaving the woman’s room four times between 12:07 a.m. and 2:15 a.m. The woman was examined at St. Cloud Hospital, and court documents state that DNA testing by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension matched Ikediego to evidence collected during the exam.
The complaint says Ikediego denied having sexual intercourse with the woman and told investigators that a hug between them was consensual.
He is being held on $800,000 bond without conditions and $400,000 bond with conditions. His next court date is June 15th.
