Clock Ticking for Families to Register for Foley’s Bicycle Safety Rodeo

(KNSI) – Families in Foley have just days left to lock in a spot for an upcoming bicycle safety event.

The deadline to register for the Foley Bicycle Safety Rodeo is Monday, June 1st. Signing up by that date through Foley Community Ed guarantees each participant a t-shirt and a goodie bag.

The rodeo itself takes place Saturday, June 13th, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lion’s Park in Foley. Hosted by the Foley Police Department, the free event is geared toward children ages 10 and under.

Young riders will learn how to stay safe on their bikes, ride through an obstacle course, have their bicycles inspected, and get their helmets properly fitted. Lunch will be served afterward, and kids can sign up for a chance to win prizes donated by local businesses and organizations.

The rodeo is a come-and-go-style event, and parents are encouraged to accompany their children. Riders should bring their own bicycles and helmets. Walk-ups are welcome the day of the event, though registering ahead of time is the only way to be guaranteed the giveaways.
