(KNSI) – Drivers on St. Cloud’s east side will want to plan ahead the rest of the week as cleanup continues of a building destroyed by fire last year.
The St. Cloud Public Works Department says Wilson Avenue Southeast will be down to shifted lanes between East St. Germain Street and 1st Street Southeast through Friday, May 1st, while work continues.
Crews will pull the traffic control when they’re not actively working and put it back in place the next morning. Traffic will still move in both directions, but through narrowed lanes, so drivers are asked to slow down and use caution.
The building at 424 East St. Germain Street went up in flames on January 30th, 2025. When the St. Cloud Fire Department arrived, heavy flames were pouring from multiple second-floor windows. Crews searched the building but found no one inside.
The structure was declared a total loss.
