(KNSI) – The Stearns County Household Hazardous Waste tour rolls on next month, with the mobile collection truck making four more stops after recent visits to Sartell and Paynesville.

The truck travels to communities across the county throughout the summer, giving residents a free way to dispose of unsafe or nuisance products that don’t belong in the garbage. Accepted items include paints, gasoline, fluorescent bulbs, car seats, batteries, pesticides, fertilizers, cleaning products, propane cylinders, aerosols, mothballs and mercury, among others.

Next up on the tour:

Greenwald Rec Building, 121 North 4th Street West, on Wednesday, May 6th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Sauk Centre Hockey Arena, 818 Centre Street, on Wednesday, May 13th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Melrose Fire Hall, 405 North 2nd Avenue East SE, on Wednesday, May 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

St. Anthony Church, 24326 Trobec Street in Albany, on Wednesday, May 27th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Several items will not be accepted at the mobile stops, including electronics, oil and oil filters, explosives, furniture, household garbage, tires, medical waste and appliances. Business waste is also turned away, as the program is designed for household products only.

Residents who can’t make a tour stop can still drop off hazardous waste year-round at the Stearns County Household Hazardous Waste Facility at 3601 5th Street South in Waite Park. That facility is open Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.
