As the Girl Scout Cookie Program enters its final stretch, local troops across Central Minnesota are making one last push to connect with the community before the season officially ends on April 30th.
While many popular varieties have already sold out, Girl Scouts in the region say inventory still remains, and community members can continue to order online to help clear out the final boxes.
The Girl Scouts organization has been building leaders for more than a century, dating back to 1912. Today, the cookie program remains one of its most recognized and impactful traditions. What may seem like a simple purchase at first glance plays a much larger role in shaping the future of young girls in the community.
The cookie program is widely considered the largest girl-led entrepreneurial program in the world. Through it, Girl Scouts gain real-world experience in goal setting, financial literacy, decision-making, and communication, skills that extend far beyond the cookie booth.
Proceeds from every box sold stay local, directly supporting troop activities, community service projects, outdoor experiences, and leadership development opportunities. For many girls, it’s their first introduction to running a business, managing money, and setting and achieving personal goals.
For families across Central Minnesota, the program is also deeply rooted in tradition. Generations have grown up participating in or supporting Girl Scouts, creating lasting memories along the way, from first sales to celebrating milestones and accomplishments.
With just days remaining in the 2026 season, community members are encouraged to place a final order or stock up on favorites like Thin Mints, Caramel DeLites, and Peanut Butter Patties before they’re gone for the year.
Online ordering remains available, offering a convenient way to support local troops while helping ensure all remaining inventory is distributed before the season concludes.
