(KNSI) – The St. Cloud Police Department is aiming to arm senior citizens with the knowledge needed to spot a scam and fraud.

Local Crime Prevention Specialist Emily Voigt says no one should have to learn this lesson the hard way, and so she has prepared a free two-hour class specifically designed for older adults and senior citizens on Tuesday, April 21st, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the St. Cloud Police Department.

Voigt will fill attendees in on scams currently targeting seniors in our community, share real-life scenarios, and provide take-home resources to share with family and friends.

Organizers say come for yourself and learn to protect yourself and the people you care about.

Space is limited, so those who want to attend must RSVP by Friday, April 17th by calling 320-255-7295 or sending an email to rsvp@ci.stcloud.mn.us.
