(KNSI) – A world-renowned string ensemble will bring its talents to St. Cloud for three shows, one of them a fundraiser and another free for families.
The international award-winning Isidore String Quartet will take the stage Friday, April 10th, at the annual Musical Chairs Fundraiser to benefit the Chamber Music Society of Saint Cloud, which is sponsoring the musicians’ appearances in St. Cloud. The event features music, gourmet desserts, and a silent auction. The highlight of the event will be local musicians sitting in with members of the Isidore String Quartet for impromptu performances of favorite works. Admission is $45.
Their concert program includes György Ligeti: Quartet No. 2 (1968), Billy Childs: American Mosaic (2026), and Schubert: Quartet in A minor, D. 804, Op. 29 “Rosamunde” (1824).
Then, on Saturday at 2:00 p.m., the artists will be at the Great River Regional Library in St. Cloud. The all-ages matinee will be at no charge. According to a press release, the program will be shorter and more informal. While in St. Cloud, the performers will also show off their talents at several community outreach programs at area schools.
On Saturday night at 7:30, the quartet will take the stage at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 1111 Cooper Avenue South. Tickets for the show are going for between $30 and $35.
According to a press release, the string group is heavily influenced by the Juilliard String Quartet. The group won the 2023 Avery Fisher Career Grant and the 14th Banff International String Quartet Competition in 2022. The group is based in New York City and came together in 2019.
