(KNSI) — St. Cloud South Junior High is the latest school to receive a safety threat as the district confirms a message was found written on a student’s desk on Tuesday.

KNSI News received a tip about the threat and reached out to St. Cloud Area School District officials. An emailed statement from Superintendent Dr. Laurie Putnam to KNSI News says, “A message referencing school safety was found written on a student desk at South Junior High yesterday. This was taken seriously and immediately investigated by our South staff in partnership with the St. Cloud Police Department. Based on that investigation, SCPD determined that there was no credible threat to South Junior High (or any other school community).

“We are grateful for the quick response of our staff and SCPD, and for everyone who continues to help us maintain a safe and supportive environment.”

The St. Cloud incident comes as schools in the Twin Cities metro and Bemidji have also faced recent threats, leading to lockdowns and closures.
