(KNSI) — Gary Gray has announced he is seeking reelection as Sherburne County’s District 4 Commissioner.

Gray was elected to the District 4 seat in 2023. During his term, he says the county installed upgraded fiber optic broadband in Clear Lake and Haven Townships, secured funding for the Highway 169 interchange project, streamlined the platting process, and launched an automated online permitting system. He also supported the transition of the Northstar Commuter Rail to bus service.

According to a press release, he played a role in efforts to help Sherburne County communities recover from the closure of the Sherco power plant and supported investments in public safety, county parks, childcare facilities, and housing.

If re-elected, Gray says he plans to work with the Solid Waste Department on a household hazardous waste facility and pursue lifting the state’s nuclear moratorium to expand carbon-free energy options in the region.

“I still have more to give,” Gray said. “Many issues still need to be addressed and resolved.”
Gray said he intends to focus on economic development, fiscal responsibility, and government efficiency if returned to office.

Gray, a lifelong Sherburne County resident, co-owned and operated Gray Potato Farm and Grayson’s Berryland with his brother for nearly four decades. A graduate of St. Cloud Technical College, he has served on the Clear Lake Township Board and the National Potato Promotion Board.
