(KNSI) – A Blizzard Warning is in effect for much of central and metro Minnesota — including Benton, Sherburne and Stearns counties — from 10:00 p.m. Sunday through 4:00 a.m. Monday.
The National Weather Service is forecasting 12 to 18 inches of snow, with winds gusting up to 45 miles per hour Sunday afternoon and evening. Those conditions are expected to produce widespread blowing and drifting snow, with visibility dropping significantly at times.
Officials are urging residents to restrict travel to emergencies only during the warning period. Anyone who must be on the roads is advised to carry a winter survival kit. If you become stranded, stay with your vehicle.
