(KNSI) — A public open house meeting is being held as Stearns County moves forward with a full reconstruction of 30th Avenue/75th Avenue, also known as Townline Road.
The reconstruction will cover the stretch between Highway 4 and the southern city limits of St. Stephen. Planned improvements will include wider driving lanes, paved shoulders, and better drainage to help reduce water problems and make the road safer. The project is a partnership with the city of Sartell and Le Sauk, St. Wendel and Brockway Townships and received $7.5 million in legislative funding in 2023 to cover the majority of the engineering and construction costs. The official start of the project is tentatively set for this year.
Residents can learn more at a public open house on Monday, March 17th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Sartell Community Center, 850 19th Street South. A brief presentation is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. County officials will provide an update on the construction timeline and take questions about the project.
