(KNSI) — The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources says anglers have until midnight tonight to remove their dark houses, fish houses, and portables from inland waters in the southern two thirds of the state.
The line runs from roughly Moorhead to Duluth and is formed by Highway 10 east, then Highway 34, to Minnesota Highway 200, to Highway 2, to the Minnesota-Wisconsin border. Areas to the north of that line have until March 16th to remove the houses.
After the removal dates, shelters may remain on the ice between midnight and one hour before sunrise only when occupied or attended. Storing or leaving shelters on a public access is not allowed. Officials can confiscate, sell or destroy the shelter and fine the owner.
