(KNSI) – The City of Sauk Rapids is looking to honor a person who goes above and beyond for the community, with nominations now open for the 2026 Citizen of the Year Award.
The annual honor recognizes a local resident who has demonstrated outstanding service and dedication to the community. Any adult Sauk Rapids citizen is eligible for nomination, regardless of age.
The city is looking for individuals who have made a meaningful impact through faith-based or civic organizations, boards or commissions, community groups, business activities, or human service work.
Organizers say they welcome nominations for candidates who quietly work behind the scenes, noting they are just as deserving of consideration as those in more visible leadership roles. Both past and present contributions will be taken into account.
The winner will receive a personalized commemorative plaque, along with the honor of serving as Grand Marshal for the Rapids River Days Parade.
Nomination brochures are available by clicking here, or can be picked up in person at the Sauk Rapids Government Center.
Completed nominations must be submitted by Monday, April 13th, and can be dropped off, mailed, or emailed using the contact information below.
