(KNSI) – The Tri-County Humane Society is bringing the fun of a beloved TV tradition to downtown St. Cloud with its first-ever local Puppy Bowl fundraiser.
The event hits the turf March 1st from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Red Carpet, featuring puppies, chili, live music from local musician Merritt Bussiere, and plenty of tail-wagging fun. TCHS Development Manager Brianna Reinke says the event was inspired by the nationally televised version. “The Puppy Bowl takes place on Animal Planet every year and they bring in different puppies from different rescues across the U.S. And so we thought, hey, it’d be kind of fun just to do this in our community here.”
Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door, and $15 for children 10 and under. Each ticket includes a bowl of chili from the Red Carpet and a choice of beer or soda.
Reinke says the event also marks a return to in-person fundraising for the organization, which had scaled back community events following the pandemic. “It stemmed from the idea of the chili cookoff, but it will just be the Red Carpet’s chili at this event.”
And she says, of course, the puppies will be on display for everyone to see.
All proceeds benefit TCHS, a nonprofit animal shelter serving the St. Cloud area.
