(KNSI) – A 15-year-old boy was hospitalized Friday morning after leading Sherburne County deputies on a pursuit that ended in a rollover crash on Highway 10.
The incident began around 11:45, when a Sherburne County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a 2020 Kia Sportage reported stolen from Minneapolis. The driver refused to stop and fled with the deputy’s emergency lights and sirens activated.
The pursuit ended near the intersection of eastbound Highway 10 and Sherburne County Road 11 in Becker Township, where the Kia lost control, left the roadway, and rolled over. The vehicle’s airbags deployed during the crash.
The teenage driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
He was rushed to St. Cloud Hospital. His current condition has not been released.
Several outside agencies assisted at the scene, including Becker Police, Big Lake Police, Becker Fire, and EMS.
