(KNSI) – The popular I.C.E. Fest – Ice Carousel Extravaganza is putting out the call for volunteers to make this year’s event go round.
The ninth annual gathering on Green Prairie Fish Lake, north of Little Falls, is next week, but before the fun can begin, the festival has to get set up. Marketing Director Becca Ruegemer connected with KNSI News to put out a plea for volunteers. “Due to unforeseen circumstances, we lost out on 120 man-hours of volunteers-two different programs that are usually our go-to’s every year for our main setup crew and our main takedown crew. And so, we are really, really, really looking for anybody that can help.”
Helpers are needed on Wednesday, February 18th, Thursday, February 19th, and Friday, February 20th. Ruegemer’s family started this event and they will all be out there all day, every day until it’s set up, but “as we’ve found over the years, many hands make light work. So the more people we can have, the less work. Even if somebody has two hours, that would be fantastic. So anything we can get.”
The free, family-friendly festival is preparing for its biggest year yet, offering two full days of activities, entertainment, and community fun on Saturday, February 21st and Sunday, February 22nd. Activities include fireworks on Saturday night, learn-to-curl demonstrations, human foosball and bowling, a s’mores station, youth hockey jamboree, and free food and beverages in the warming tent and more.
To volunteer, contact Chuck Zwilling at 320-249-1504 or Becca Zwilling Ruegemer at 320-282-8901. Email: Chuck.Zwilling@Results.net
