(KNSI) – Three St. Cloud Tech High School students have earned their place at the National Championship round of Music Listening.

District 742

According to the school district, Walker Prescott, Donald Conrad, and Marcus Wade will represent their school at Anoka-Ramsey Community College on Thursday, February 12th, showcasing their exceptional musical knowledge and teamwork.

The students formed their own three-person team to compete in the challenging competition, which tests participants’ comprehensive understanding of music through multiple formats. The regional competition featured a written test with five distinct rounds: musical identification, excerpt-based short answer questions, a lightning round, multiple choice, and a mystery round.

After navigating those rigorous challenges, the team emerged victorious from a field of 85 teams representing 36 schools and groups across seven regions. The top two teams from regionals advance to compete head-to-head for the championship title.
