(KNSI) – Two runaway teens who prompted a plea for help from the public by the St. Cloud Police Department have been found safe.

Officials say 16-year-old Chloe Merrow and 15-year-old Maci Covey were located by agencies outside the St. Cloud area approximately one week after police first asked the public for help finding them.

The girls were last seen together at a non-secure juvenile facility in Olmsted County. On January 20th, officials learned the pair were likely in the St. Cloud area, though they had no known connections to the community. Police believed the two remained together throughout their disappearance.

The St. Cloud Police Department issued a public plea for information on January 23rd, expressing concern for the girls’ wellbeing and asking residents to watch for them.

Authorities have not released details about where the teens were found or the circumstances surrounding their recovery.

The police department thanked the public for their assistance during the search and reminded community members that anyone with concerns about missing or runaway juveniles can contact the St. Cloud Police Department at 320-251-1200.
