(KNSI) – The Great River Children’s Museum will be open to families free of charge from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17th, in an early celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. No registration is required.

Visitors can participate in a variety of activities designed to honor Dr. King’s legacy and bring the community together.

The Dream Wall Community Mural invites families to contribute to a collaborative artwork expressing their hopes and dreams, while the Words That Moved MLK Quote Scavenger Hunt encourages children to explore the museum while discovering inspiring words from Dr. King’s speeches and writings.

Families can gather for Dream Big Storytime, featuring readings that celebrate diversity, courage, and community. In the Teaching Kitchen, Solidarity Snack Making gives families hands-on experience preparing food together while learning about cooperation and community.

Throughout the day, Unity Circle Demonstrations offer interactive experiences focused on connection and togetherness.

The museum encourages families to spend the day exploring exhibits, participating in special programming, and imagining possibilities.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is Monday, January 19th. The museum will be closed on Monday.
