Stearns County Under Winter Weather Advisory as Winds, Snow Move In

(KNSI) – A winter weather advisory has been issued for Stearns County and parts west in central Minnesota.

The advisory begins at midnight and goes until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16th. Benton, Morrison, Sherburne and Wright counties ARE NOT included.

The National Weather Service says strong northwesterly winds will combine with scattered snow showers to blow falling snow and significantly reduce visibility. Forecasters say to plan on slippery road conditions affecting the Friday morning and evening commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

Total snow accumulations up to one inch are expected with winds gusting as high as 45 miles per hour.
