(KNSI) – A Sartell woman has learned her fate after pleading guilty in a fatal hit-and-run that occurred early last year.
On February 16th, 2025, Cadee Campbell was heading south on Highway 15 when she struck a man just south of the intersection with Division Street in St. Cloud. Multiple witnesses say the car struck the man and kept going. The victim wasn’t identified by officials.
Police say the 22-year-old called dispatch after she arrived home and told them she was the driver of the vehicle. When officers arrived at her apartment, she told them she was going around 55 miles per hour and saw the man only when he was near her passenger-side headlight. Campbell stated that she knew she had hit someone, but didn’t want to get out of her car with her child inside.
She pleaded guilty on October 23rd, 2025, to a felony charge of causing a traffic collision resulting in death and failing to stop.
She was sentenced on Monday, January 5th, 2026, to 20 days in jail, with credit for four days already served, and must report to jail by January 20th to serve the remaining 16 days.
A three-year prison sentence was stayed, meaning she won’t serve any additional time behind bars unless she violates the terms of her three-year probation. The terms include remaining law-abiding and not driving a motor vehicle.
